APS to issue resource RFPs

PHOENIX – Arizona Public Service Company (APS) plans to issue multiple RFPs in the next several months as part of a comprehensive effort to meet its resource needs beginning in the early 2020s. APS will seek competitive proposals for peaking-capacity needs, Arizona forest bioenergy solutions, and battery retrofit opportunities for APS-owned solar facilities. More specific information about each of the solicitations will be released in the coming weeks.

APS serves about 2.7 million people in 11 of Arizona’s 15 counties, and is the Southwest’s foremost producer of clean, safe and reliable electricity. Using a balanced energy mix that is nearly 50 percent carbon-free, APS has one of the country’s cleanest energy portfolios, including both Palo Verde Generating Station and renewable energy.
