APS issues RFP for 75 MW of demand response summer capacity

Arizona Public Service Company (APS) issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for new capacity resources that will help optimize APS’s ability to manage its peak load. The RFP is due February 13, 2020 and seeks up to 75MW of flexible summer capacity during periods of peak customer demand for a period of five years, beginning June 1, 2021. The company requests proposals from experienced demand response providers who will engage APS commercial and industrial customers that are willing to reduce their energy consumption during specific time periods. The RFP allows these customers to partner with APS to support grid reliability as well as both APS and customer sustainability and clean energy goals. The RFP also will allow commercial and industrial customers to partner with APS in support of their own sustainability and clean energy goals, which often includes conserving energy.

The RFP also will allow commercial and industrial customers to partner with APS in support of their own sustainability and clean energy goals, which often includes conserving energy. A third-party independent monitor will oversee the procurement process.

APS will use the PowerAdvocate platform for this RFP and will regularly update the platform to include necessary documents and timely instructions for respondents. To register on PowerAdvocate and obtain access to the RFP, please use the link below:
