Temporary Cable Projects
aps
Improvements are coming to your area, which means you may see some temporary equipment on or near your property. As work is completed, you might notice a few things happening:
- Contractors working with APS may need access to areas of your property where equipment is located. If access is needed, every effort will be made to coordinate with you beforehand.
- You may see some temporary equipment on or near your property.
- You could see marking, flags or paint near underground equipment.
- Construction crews may need to dig trenches.
Thank you for your patience as the power equipment in your area is being upgraded to help increase energy reliability.
See some common FAQs related to the temporary equipment.
If you have further questions, please call us at (602) 371-7171 or (800) 253-9405 and reference the Work Order number located at the bottom of the door hanger left behind at the property where equipment was installed.
Frequently Asked Questions
To better serve your area with reliable power and prevent outages, equipment is being upgraded. First, our crews will visit your area to see what repairs need to be made. A temporary cable or other equipment may be placed near your property, so you have power until a permanent fix can be made. Crews will attempt to contact you and/or leave a door hanger with more information about what you can expect.
For your safety, please do not touch, move or handle the equipment. Crews will install ramps on driveways or walkways to prevent tripping hazards. They may also call a barricade company to increase safety and awareness of the cables. In that case, you may see signs and barricades.
Here are some photos of what the equipment may look like. You may see cables, marking flags or paint near underground equipment. Construction crews may need to dig trenches.
In some cases, APS will install a mobile surveillance station to monitor the temporary equipment and help ensure the safety of nearby residents. While the surveillance station typically includes cameras, APS does not monitor customer activity or have access to images or videos unrelated to safety concerns about the installed temporary electrical equipment.

While we attempt to make permanent repairs as quickly as possible, the timeframe varies depending on a few variables, including the location and permitting. The timeframe may vary from a couple of weeks to more than a month.
