Bianco 230kV Transmission Line Siting Project

Location: Casa Grande and unincorporated Pinal County
Why this project is needed:
To meet the expanding energy needs of more people and businesses throughout the Casa Grande area, we are looking to upgrade our system. We have started studies to determine appropriate routes for new transmission lines and a new substation in the Casa Grande and Pinal County area. These facilities will connect with existing transmission infrastructure and include 69kV, 230kV and 500kV facilities. We are working to identify locations for the new lines to best meet the needs of our customers and the community.

The Bianco public open houses were held on the dates listed below. Community members had the opportunity to learn more about the project and speak with APS representatives. We would like to thank you for providing your feedback and input to help identify the proper location for the transmission corridor.

Virtual Open House
The public was also able to visit the virtual open house online to review project information and provide input.
Although comments were encouraged throughout the duration of the project, stakeholders were asked to submit them during the open house comment period, which ended on July 11, 2025. This allowed for timely review and consideration of public input during the siting process.
