Our customers depend on us each day to deliver reliable energy. With approximately 1.4 million customers across the state, it is critical that we provide quality service today while responsibly planning for what we‘ll need in the future.

APS is the state's leader in clean energy – providing customers with energy that is about 54% clean today and growing. We do this while maintaining reliability and affordability through a balanced and diverse energy portfolio, which includes nuclear, solar, energy storage, natural gas, energy-saving customer programs and more.

Integrated Resource Plan

Every three years, APS performs a comprehensive study to identify how much energy our customers will need over the next 15 years and what resources we’ll use to meet those needs. We consider factors like how much economic growth is expected in Arizona, what new technologies may be available and how weather could impact energy demand. The results of the study are filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission as our Integrated Resource Plan.

Resource Planning Advisory Council (RPAC)

The Resource Planning Advisory Council (RPAC) was formed in early 2021 with a diverse set of stakeholders to collaborate with APS in the development of the Company’s 2023 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). In light of the rapidly changing energy environment evident across the country and in particular in Arizona, RPAC infuses additional stakeholder participation and transparency into the IRP process. System Reliability Benefits (SRB) Adjustment Mechanism

The SRB Mechanism was approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) in 2024 and will allow APS to request recovery of costs for new APS-owned generation facilities, procured through competitive all-source requests for proposal, in between rate cases. APS will provide quarterly stakeholder meetings and updates on future or existing resources that qualify for the SRB. Any requests for recovery through the SRB will go through a review process and will require approval by the ACC. The latest SRB stakeholder presentations and minutes are linked below.
