why we're offering this program

For nearly 60 years, we have been finding ways to harness the power of the sun to help meet Arizona’s energy needs. But since solar is an intermittent resource that produces different amounts of energy depending on the time of day and weather conditions, it also presents challenges with integrating it into our grid. This program will help.

We’ve selected specific parts of our electric distribution system, called “feeders” where we will work with local installers to install top-tier solar panels and advanced inverters (the equipment that changes the solar energy from “DC” to “AC” power). Having specific areas of high penetration of solar today will help us learn how to better integrate solar and other renewable technologies tomorrow.

how it works
The APS Solar Partner program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified customers until our capacity limits are reached in the targeted areas. Because the number of systems is limited, apply right away to reserve your spot.

  1. To apply, simply answer a few pre-qualification questions and fill out the online application. You will need to be activated on aps.com to complete the application.
  2. Once your information is verified, you'll receive the agreement to sign and will schedule an appointment to have an installer come to your home to conduct a site survey and roof inspection.
  3.
  4. Once the system is installed it will be inspected by your local municipality.
  5. We'll then do our own inspection to make sure the system is correctly tied to our grid, install a production meter to make sure the system is producing as it should, and turn it on.

Before you know it you'll begin seeing a $30 credit on your monthly bill, saving you $7,200 over the life of the program. It's that easy.
