We anticipate Arizona’s energy needs will be 50% higher by 2025. The good news? We plan to meet 65% of that growth in demand with renewable energy and energy efficiency. That’s why we’re increasing the amount of renewable energy in our generation portfolio.
adding renewable resources
Over the next 15-20 years, we expect to add more than 1,600 megawatts of renewable resources - enough to power 400,000 homes.
We celebrated several renewable energy milestones in 2011:
  • more customers installed solar than in any prior year
  • construction began on the 250-megawatt Solana Generating Station
  • we brought 3 solar plants on line as part of our AZ Sun program

current & future renewable energy
557 megawatts
renewable energy in operation during 2013, up from less than 1 megawatt in 2001; more than 500 additional megawatts are being planned or developed
1,600 megawatts
additional energy from new renewable resources which we expect to add over the next 15 years; that’s enough energy to serve an additional 400,000 homes
