aps scholarship for asu students
Deadline: Wednesday, March 1, 2017
APS is proud to announce that the annual APS/ASU Scholarship is open for applications. In 1988 APS donated a piece of land to ASU and in return, ASU established an Endowment for APS that would produce an annual payout sufficient to cover 10 scholarships of $2,000. The application is open to all qualifying ASU students, however, each year, 2 of the scholarships are reserved for APS dependents. ASU students can apply here.

Additional criteria
This scholarship requires eligible applicants to demonstrate financial need. In order to determine your eligibility, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the scholarship deadline.


The scholarship may be renewable. Renewal applicants must reapply annually by the scholarship deadline for consideration.

arizona public service endowment at asu west campus
​aps scholarship program at the west campus

5 scholarships of about $2,000 each (about $1,000 per semester) to students pursuing a baccalaureate degree at ASU West. Scholarships are renewable as long as recipient continues to meet established criteria.

  • field of study - STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) or finance

four corners power plant navajo scholarships

The Four Corners Power Plant helps prepare selected Navajo students for careers related to the electric utility industry. Students living near the plant are eligible to apply. Established in 1995, more than 100 students have graduated from the program and APS has hired 21 full-time.

palo verde scholarships

Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to local high school seniors.
 
The Palo Verde Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to deserving graduating seniors in the plant’s surrounding community. This is done with the goal of supporting and improving the community in which it operates, specifically by providing resources which help young adults in the community improve their opportunities and meet their educational goals.

  • be a graduating senior at one of the following high schools: Buckeye Union, Tonopah Valley, Verrado, Wickenburg, Youngker or Estrella Foothills
  • enrolled as a full-time student at an Arizona university, college, or trade school for the 2017-2018 academic year
  • have a high school academic cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher (non-weighted)
  • show involvement in school​, extracurricular and volunteer/community service activities
deadline
submissions for the 2017-2018 scholarships must be received by Friday, April 7, 2017.
 
process
  1. attach one letter of recommendation from a professional who can attest to the potential for success in academics and to the character of the applicant.
  2. attach an official transcript or letter from a school official, which verifies applicant’s GPA and high school academic record.
  3. attach a separate sheet listing volunteer/community service, awards and honors, extracurricular activities (in and out of school) and any leadership positions.
  4. mail completed application, with all attachments to pv.scholarship@aps.com. All packages must be received by Friday, April 7, 2017.
Upon receipt of all application p​ackages and a formal review process, recipients will be notified in May 2017 of award.
