Reducing energy use is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to improve a business’s bottom line. More than 10 years ago, we started the Solutions for Business program to help customers do just that. The program provides rebates to help offset the cost of upgrading to more energy efficient equipment and resources to guide you along the way.

energy tips
  • Install occupancy sensors  in restrooms, break rooms, storage areas and walk-in refrigerators to save as much as 30–75% on lighting energy.
  • Sleeping computers still draw some energy, so turn them off - along with copiers, printers and other equipment - when not in use.
  • A well-crafted operation and maintenance program can save 5–20% on your energy bills without requiring a significant capital investment. Take into account changes in occupancy and use, including vacation and weekend shutdowns. A comprehensive program includes cooling tune-up, cleaning coils, changing air and water filters, verifying operation and adjusting setpoints of sensors and controls, calibrating thermostats and humidistats, cleaning light fixtures, and group re-lamping.
  • Reduce lighting energy use  by 15–25% when you replace overhead T12 fluorescent lamps and magnetic ballasts with premium efficient T8 fluorescent lamps and electronic ballasts.
  • ENERGY STAR qualified products use 30–74% less electricity than standard office equipment. Look for efficient models when you replace or buy new office equipment like copiers and fax machines. Read more energy-saving tips for your office .
  • Replace old refrigerators and dishwashers with ENERGY STAR® qualified products that use 15–40% less energy than other models.
  • Save up to $500 per year when you use a programmable thermostat  to raise the temperature after hours.
  • Save $900 per year when you replace your aging HVAC system with a properly sized high-efficiency model.
