energy tips
  • If your water-heating system has a recirculation pump, install a timer  to turn it off when the kitchen is closed.
  • Reduce operating costs by 30–50% when you add variable controls  to your kitchen exhaust system.
  • Fix leaky pipes, sinks and water fountains - these little drips can quickly drain your operating budget, especially if they use hot water.
  • Use high-efficiency icemakers and set production for off-peak hours.
  • Save energy and enhance comfort when you install photocell nightlights  in guest bathrooms.
  • Office equipment  typically consumes 8% of the electricity used in hotels. ENERGY STAR® qualified office and imaging products use 30–75% less electricity than standard equipment.
  • Reduce motor energy use  by up to 70% when you install high-efficiency evaporative fan motors in refrigerated cases and walk-in coolers.
  • Save with CFLs - they produce 75% less heat and last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
