lesson in lighting efficiency
Undergoing a lighting retrofit became a lesson on energy efficiency and cost savings for one Phoenix school. Swapping out existing fixtures for T8 fluorescent lamps, electric ballasts and LED exit signs were estimated to reduce the annual electricity bill by nearly $20,000.
“I would definitely recommend this program to other schools—our out-of-pocket costs were so low, we’ll recoup them in just a couple of months,” notes the school’s founder and executive director.
