Let Budget Billing even out the highs and lows of your monthly bills for easier budgeting.

how budget billing works
  • So that you can pay about the same each month, your recent energy bills are averaged to determine your Budget Billing payment.
  • Your usage is reviewed periodically and if it changes, your Budget Billing payment may be adjusted (but no more than once quarterly).
  • The difference between your Budget Billing payments and the actual cost of your usage is your settle-up balance. For example, a settle-up debit balance occurs when your usage costs are more than the payments you’ve made. (Please remember this is for electricity already used.)
  • You can find your settle-up balance (debit or credit) on your monthly bill.
  • If you have more than 3 late payments in 12 months, your account is removed from Budget Billing and your settle-up balance becomes due. However, you can enroll again once any past due amount is paid.​​​

your eligibility
  • Your account must be current (no past due amount) and not have a payment arrangement.
  • When there are multiple locations under one bill (summary billed), all locations must be enrolled in Budget Billing.
  • Minimum billing history is generally not required unless it’s a newly built residence. However for a business location, a minimum of 3 months of billing history is needed.
  • Accounts with solar (EPR riders), Green Choice, landlord agreements or unmetered services are not eligible.
