Help conserve energy today from Xpm-Xpm

At APS, we work year-round to make sure we’re ready to deliver power on the hottest days of the year. On rare occasions, when conditions are extreme, we may ask customers for help.

Here’s what you can do

Demand for energy is unusually high right now. Here are some ways you can help:

Residential customers

  • Consider raising your thermostat 1-3 degrees higher than normal (only if you’re comfortable and it’s safe to do so). Use ceiling fans to keep people and pets cool.
  • Avoid using major appliances such as your washer, dryer, dishwasher and pool pump.
  • Wait to charge electric vehicles.
  • Use an air fryer, slow cooker or toaster oven instead of the oven. Or try a no-cook meal like a sandwich or salad.
  • Close blinds or curtains to keep heat out of your home.
  • Turn off extra lights or fans, and unplug any appliances you aren’t using.
  • Keep your refrigerator and freezer doors closed.

Businesses

  • Avoid using non-essential equipment, such as boilers, exhaust fans and circulating pumps.
  • Wait to charge electric vehicles and equipment.
  • Close window coverings to keep out heat. Use ceiling fans to keep people cool.
  • Turn off any lights, fans or appliances you aren’t using.
