
Helping teachers teach. Now that’s an idea that APS thinks is worth exploring.That’s why the company is once again teaming with the Phoenix Suns to offer Arizona’s teachers $50,000 in grants aimed at helping them educate children on energy and the environment.
For the sixth consecutive year, the APS Energy & Environmental Education Mini Grants Program is rewarding educators for creating projects or classroom ideas that connect energy and environmental education with their students’ core subjects such as math, science, and reading.
“We are so pleased at APS to be able to help schools create innovative ways to teach their students about energy and the environment,” said APS Education Outreach Coordinator Louise Moskowitz.
The program is open to educators who teach in public schools in the APS service territory. Maximum grants of $1,000 will be awarded in the following grade categories:
Grant applications have been mailed to eligible schools and also are available at APS business offices, online at (URL), and by e-mail from louise.moskowitz@pinnaclewest.com. Applications must be completed and postmarked by September 19, 2001. Winners will be announced the week of October 15, 2001. |
