APS Completes Sale of Assets to ED-3

With the close of escrow on Sept. 30, the sale and transfer of certain transmission and distribution facilities in Pinal County to ED-3 was complete. As a result, about 3,800 APS customers now are officially being served by ED-3.

Prior to the transaction, APS customers in the area were served by APS power lines that connected with ED-3's electric system. This unique arrangement created occasional confusion regarding which utility is responsible for repairs, potentially resulting in delays in restoring service, increased costs for both utilities, and possible risk to the safety of the companies' employees and the public.

On May 26, the Arizona Corporation Commission unanimously approved the sale. Over the next four months, APS and ED-3 worked closely to coordinate the transfer of customers.

This website will remain active through the end of the year. APS and ED-3 are committed to working with customers that may have questions or concerns after the transition. In addition, customers seeking further information can call (520) 421-8455 or e-mail ed3@aps.com.
