Reading Your Meter

  • Reading your dial meter
  • Reading your digital meter
  • Reading your bi-directional meter - If you have a small generating system that is connected to the APS grid at your home or business, such as a photovotaic system, you will have a bi-directional meter installed.

For a kilowatt-hour read once you have read your meter, subtract this read from a previous read to establish the how many kilowatt hours have been used. Your APS bill displays your current and previous readings. The difference between the two is how we determine the amount of your bill each month.

A kilowatt read -- also known as a demand read -- is billed just as it appears. This occurs because the meter reader resets the demand read every month after the meter has been read.
