Frequently Asked Questions about Rate Plans

What rate plans are available?
With four of our Electric Rate Plans, Time Advantage 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Time Advantage 7 p.m. to Noon, Combined Advantage 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the Combined Advantage 7 p.m. to Noon Plan, the time of day you use electricity can determine how much you pay. And with our Standard Plan, it doesn't make any difference what time of day you use the electricity. The dollar amount of your bill simply depends on the total amount of electricity you use.

What are the on-peak and off-peak hours?
When you've chosen one of the Time Advantage or Combined Advantage Plans, you'll want to use more of your energy during off-peak hours when it's less expensive. Your off-peak hours vary based on the plan selected.

Are holidays on or off-peak?
The Time Advantage 7 p.m. to noon and Combined Advantage 7 p.m. to noon Plans include six holidays in the off- peak hours. Holidays are not included in our 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. plans.

What is demand?
A kilowatt read, also known as a demand read, is billed just as it appears. This occurs because the meter reader resets the demand read every month after the meter has been read.
