APS Solutions for Business Program
Schools K-12

Schools spend more on energy than on educational materials: typical energy costs are second only to salaries. The good news is that schools can reduce energy expenditures by implementing energy efficiency measures.

Comprehensive Program
Choose from a prescriptive menu of measures with set incentives, propose a custom project or apply for assistance with energy studies. Use the "Equipment" menu to learn about rebates for specific projects or download an application.

You can also install demand response equipment and participate in the Energy Information Services (EIS) program.

To participate in the comprehensive program, submit an application to reserve funds or contact a Trade Ally for help identifying appropriate improvements.

Express Solutions
Schools of any size can participate in our Express Solutions program. The Express approach cuts the cost and hassle of energy efficiency upgrades, which makes it easier than ever for schools to save energy and money.

To participate in the Express program, simply contact an Express Solutions Trade Ally to schedule a facility assessment.

Financing
APS is partnering with National Bank of Arizona (NB|AZ) to offer low interest rate financing to commercial rate customers participating in the Solutions for Business program. APS rebates can reduce a significant portion of the project costs and financing may cover the rest.

Starting Points

  • HVAC is the largest energy expense for Arizona schools. Efficient HVAC systems creates a comfortable and healthy learning environment and reduces maintenance demands.

  • Interior lighting uses almost as much electricity as HVAC, it adds to the cooling load, and it's relatively easy to change.

  • Don't forget about other energy hogs like ice makers, refrigerators, steam cookers, hot food holding cabinets, water heating and vending machines. Install controls and replace old equipment with efficient models.
