Because our customers’ health and safety is a top priority at APS, we have developed the Medical Care Program.
The Medical Care Program is an outage notification and preparedness program that helps our customers who are dependant on life sustaining medical equipment make plans when an outage occurs. Medical Care customers are notified in advance of all planned outages in their area.
If you or someone living in your home rely on electrically operated medical equipment, please submit the online application form.
If you have questions, you can reach a Medical Care Representative by e-mail or by phone at (602) 371-6884 or at (800) 253-9405 ext 6884.
The qualifying life support devices include, but are not limited to:
- Kidney, Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis equipment
- Ventilators and oximeters
- Feeding or infusion pumps
- Suction machines
- Oxygen concentrators - continuous use only
Customers participating in the Medical Care Program may also be eligible for our E-4 Medical Care Equipment Support Program. E-4 offers a discount up to 40 percent off the cost of electricity for customers who meet certain income guidelines. The income guidelines are based on 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines as determined by the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) and are updated annually, on July 1st.
APS recommends seeking temporary shelter if you use life-support equipment and your power is interrupted. This will assure your medical needs will be met until the power is restored. If you do leave, please turn on a porch light to let us know when your service has been restored.
