APS Offering Mini-Grants To K-12 Teachers
Supporting Innovative Teaching Strategies to Improve Student Performance

September 1, 2009

APS and the Phoenix Suns are accepting applications for Education Mini-Grants. There is up to $50,000 available and the grants will be distributed in up to $2,500 increments.

Available to K through 12 teachers who teach in public school districts located in APS’ service territory, the grants will be awarded to support innovative, student-based projects that improve student achievement and address energy exploration using science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics.

The grants are available in four categories: grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Each grade range will be judged independently of the other categories. Funding will be provided to the school or school district for distribution to the teacher recipient who will use the grant money in accordance with the approved budget.

Grant applications will be accepted only online through Oct. 15, 2009. Or, from the APS home page aps.com, click on My Community. Under the Education Tools drop-down menu select Mini-Grants to download an application.
