APS Hosting Workshop to Help Cities and Towns Obtain 'Stimulus' Funds for Energy Efficiency Projects April 28, 2009 WHAT: Arizona Public Service Co. (APS) will host an all-day workshop on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to help cities, towns, counties and Tribal entities maximize funding available for energy efficiency projects in public and private buildings. WHEN: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 6 WHERE: WHY: Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant (EECBG) funds are available to local governments through the ARRA. The funds will provide a wealth of opportunities for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects that can cut energy costs, reduce emissions and help spark economic activity in cities and towns across Arizona. But, to obtain the “stimulus” funds, projects must first be defined, tracking and reporting requirements must be identified, and timelines for the funds must be met. This free workshop targets city, town and county managers, facility managers and grant writers.It will offer practical tools and information for planning and implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in their communities. The workshop will include presentations on:
