APS Offers ASU West, Maricopa Community College Scholarships

Applications are being accepted for APS-sponsored scholarships at ASU West and Maricopa Community Colleges for the 2009-2010 school year.

To be eligible, applicants must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be an Arizona resident and have financial need.

Arizona State University West
The final number and amount of ASU West scholarships will be based on endowment payout to be announced in July 2009. The application deadline is April 30.

Applicants must be a high school senior or current ASU West student studying business or education. Students can apply electronically at two sites:

Maricopa Community Colleges
There are 25 scholarships of $1,000 - $500 per semester - available for students attending Maricopa Community Colleges. The scholarships will be awarded to those eligible in three categories:

  • Sixteen scholarships to high school seniors graduating in Spring 2009 or current Maricopa Community College students

  • Seven for the Chandler-Gilbert Electric Utility Technology Program

  • Two scholarships to dependents of an employee of APS or any of the other Pinnacle West Capital Corp. subsidiaries.

Applicants must be a high school senior or current MCC student studying engineering, trades and crafts, information technology, business, education or health care. The deadline for applications is March 27.
