APS, Phoenix Suns Offering Grants to K-12 Teachers

APS and the Phoenix Suns are accepting applications for Education Mini-Grants. As much as $50,000 is available for recipients, and the grants will be distributed in up to $500 increments.

Available to K-12 teachers who teach in public schools located in APS' service territory, the grants will be awarded to support innovative, student-based educational projects that enhance learning and improve student achievement. Consideration will be given to projects that focus on energy, the environment, reading, mathematics or character education. Grants will be awarded monthly in three categories - Elementary (K-6); Junior High (7-9); and High School (10-12). 

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis through Jan. 30, 2009. They are available online at www.aps.com/grants or at any APS customer office.
