August 17, 1999

Phoenix, AZ - APS and the Phoenix Suns are offering environmental education grants of up to $1000 to be awarded for the 1999-2000 school year. Applications must be postmarked no later than September 24

The grants are open to educators statewide who teach in grades K-12 in schools located in the APS service territory. They are designed to encourage students and teachers to pursue ideas and projects that link energy and environmental education to “core” subjects. Projects must be completed by the end of the 1999-2000 school year.

Applications are short and concise and grants will be awarded in three categories: K-6, 7-9 and 10-12 grades. They will be available at any local APS customer office, on our website at http://about.apsc.com/education/grants/ or by contacting Louise Moskowitz at lmoskowi@apsc.comor 602-250-2291.

Announcements of grant recipients will be made no later than Friday, October 15.

APS, Arizona’s largest and longest-serving electric utility, serves more than 805,000 customers in 11 of the state’s 15 counties and is the largest subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation (NYSE:PNW).
