APS, Phoenix Suns Offer Education Grants To K-12 Teachers August 29, 2006 Phoenix, AZ - APS, in partnership with the Phoenix Suns, is offering public schools within the company's service territory mini-grants of up to $500 each for innovative, student-based education projects. The program provides funding for projects that address one or all of the following topics: energy, environment, reading, mathematics, or character education. Projects must be implemented during the 2006-2007 school year. This marks the 11th year of the program. As an example, in prior years grants have been awarded to:
Grants will be awarded in three categories: grades Kindergarten-6, grades 7-9, and grades 10-12. Applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis through Jan. 31, 2007, and will be awarded monthly. In total, $50,000 in funding is available through the Education Mini-Grant Program.
