APS and the Phoenix Suns Offering Education Mini-Grants

September 6, 2000

Phoenix, AZ - APS and the Phoenix Suns are offering environmental education grants of up to $1,000 to be awarded for the 2000-01 school year. Applications must be postmarked no later than Sept. 29.

The grants are open to educators statewide who teach in grades K-12 in public schools located in the APS service territory. They are designed to encourage students and teachers to pursue ideas and projects that link energy and environmental education to “core” subjects. Projects must be completed by the end of the 2000-01 school year.

Applications are short and concise and grants will be awarded in three categories: K-6, 7-9 and 10-12 grades. They will be available at any local APS customer office, on our website at www.aps.com or by contacting Louise Moskowitz at Louise.Moskowitz@Pinnaclewest.com or (602) 250-2291.

Announcements of grant recipients will be made during the week of Oct. 16.

APS, Arizona's largest and longest-serving electric utility, serves more than 827,000 customers in 11 of the state's 15 counties. APS, with headquarters in Phoenix, is the largest subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation (NYSE:PNW).
