APS and Phoenix Suns Offering Education Mini-Grants September 19, 2003 Phoenix, AZ - APS and the Phoenix Suns are offering energy and environmental education grants of up to $1,000 to be awarded for the 2003-2004 school year. A total of up to $50,000 in grants is available. The grants are open to educators statewide who teach grades K-12 in public schools located in APS service territories. They are designed to encourage students and teachers to pursue ideas and projects that link energy and environmental education to "core" subjects. Projects must be completed by the end of the 2003-2004 school year. Grants will be awarded in three categories:

Applications also are available at any APS customer office. Completed applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis through Friday, February 13, 2004, for projects to be completed during the 2003-2004 academic year. Applications will be judged on several criteria, including how the proposed activity addresses critical energy and environmental issues facing Arizona.
