APS Qualified Solar Installers
The Arizona solar industry continues to grow each year. With the abundance of sunshine and availability of federal, state and utility incentives, solar just makes sense! APS wants to help both our customers and the installer community capitalize on these incentives and assist with the integration of high quality solar technologies and installations.
|
The APS Qualified Solar Installer (QSI) program is designed to make it easier for our APS customers to identify a solar installer who:
- Holds the applicable AZ Registrar of Contractors license(s)
- Is knowledgeable of system design, installation practices, and APS policy and procedures
- Has high customer satisfaction ratings
- Are bonded and insured
|
 |
In turn, the APS QSI program distinguishes installers in the market to help build their customer base.
- High-quality supplemental training including design and installation, ethics and APS process
- Exclusive access to the QSI logo
- Customer referrals for ELA members through our QSI Referral Program
- Program accreditation
- Increased training at a greatly reduced price
- Industry safeguards
- Quality competition/pricing stability
- NABCEP Installer Exam reimbursement
- APS educates customers about the QSI Program through articles in the APS customer newsletter, e-newsletter, and other customer communications and maintains a current QSI PV and SWH lists at aps.com/findsolar.
2012 Program Bonus for Installers
The 2012 QSI program continues to offer installers great opportunities to pursue continuing education.
- NABCEP Test-Out: PV and SWH installation firms that currently employ a NABCEP Certified PV or SWH Installer are eligible to have three technical PV workshops or two technical SWH workshops and one professional/administrative workshop waived from their eligibility requirements. Installers must submit documentation to confirm NABCEP certification.
- NABCEP Installer Exam Reimbursement: For those SWH and PV installers that successfully complete all required 2012 Technical and Professional/Administrative workshops and have a QSI accreditation in good-standing are eligible for APS reimbursement for the application and exam fee associated with the NABCEP Installer Exams. Once all QSI program requirements are successfully completed, APS will reimburse the exam and application fee for the NABCEP Installer Exam taken after the accreditation is received.
