Residential Solar Water Heating Post-Installation Site Visits

Participation in APS’s Renewable Energy Incentive Program (“REIP”) continues to grow, making it increasingly more important to ensure that the highest standards for installation are being met.

For this reason, APS has implemented such programs as the Qualified Solar Installer training program and PV Compliance Checks. In an effort to continue to promote high quality installations, APS has enhanced the residential SWH program by now including a post-installation site visit to verify the installation of an OG-300 system and conformance with APS program requirements.

All residential solar water heating (“SWH”) reservations funded from the 2012 program may be subject to a random APS post-installation site visit. For systems that were reserved out of the 2011 RES budget but have not yet received their incentive check, APS will follow-up with all installers and inform them of the reservations subject to site visit prior to scheduling.

Participants in the APS Qualified Solar Installer program (for SWH) are only subject to having five successful random site visits of their customer installations throughout the entire program year. All non-QSI installations are subject to a random post-installation site visit: the volume is subject to the overall program participation volume and historical site visit success rate. APS will inform installers of those installations subject to an inspection once the AHJ clearance has been submitted and prior to the processing of the incentive check.
