- Make sure your new qualifying heat pump or AC unit in installed is accordance with the APS Quality Installation standard by an APS Rebate Eligible Contractor to ensure you are eligible for the rebate.
- Make sure that the SEER and EER rating of the unit you are considering is high enough to qualify for the rebate. There are more than 40,000 eligible AC unit combinations. Our application tips can help you confirm SEER and EER ratings.
- Please be aware that a high SEER rating does not guarantee that a unit will qualify for the rebates. Ask your contractor to verify the SEER and EER ratings in the AHRI Unitary Directory of Certified Products.
- Fill out a Residential AC Rebate Application*. You will need assistance from your APS Rebate Eligible Contractor to fill out the AC equipment information on page one of the application. The Quality Installation Test Results form is completed by your contractor. To help the rebate process go smoother, see our application tips.
- Mail your completed rebate application, invoice from an APS Rebate Eligible Contractor showing proof of installation and payment at your address, Quality Installation Test Results form and supporting documents to:

- Your information will be verified prior to issuing a rebate check. We conduct on-site inspections at a random sample of homes prior to issuing a rebate check.
- Once your application has been approved, we will mail your rebate check. Please allow 6 - 8 weeks for your rebate application to be processed.
More information and free referrals to an APS Qualified Contractor are available online, by e-mail or by calling (602) 371-3636 or (888) 890-9730 outside metro-Phoenix. The APS Rebate Eligible Contractor list includes the name and phone number of all of the contractors that can offer the APS AC Rebate and also indicates if they are also an APS Qualified Contractor.

- Units installed after April 7, 2009 and before the end date of the program will be eligible for the rebate amounts shown on the currently posted application form. Units installed between April 12, 2006 and April 7, 2009 are only eligible only for the rebate amounts that were in effect during that period. The program will end when rebate funds expire.
- A dated contractor invoice will be required as proof of purchase and installation date. Your invoice must include:
- Manufacturer
- Model numbers
- ARI reference number
- Unit size (tons)
- SEER and EER efficiency levels
- Proof of installation at your address
- Proof of payment
- Your contractor's license number.
- You must install a new unit(s) that replaces an existing heat pump or air conditioner (AC) in an existing home served by APS.
- This program applies to whole house heat pumps and AC systems only; window units and mini-splits do not qualify for a rebate.
- Incentive amounts are per unit, at a maximum of 5 units per home.
- Your unit(s) must be installed in accordance with the APS Quality Installation standards by an APS Rebate Eligible Contractor to qualify.
- A Residential AC Rebate Application must be submitted to APS within 6 months of your installation date. You must fill out a separate application form for each unit.
