Incentives for Non-Residential Solar Pool Heating

Using solar energy is a cost-effective and environmentally conscious way to heat your facility's pool, making swimming a year-round luxury.

How solar pool heating works:

  1. Water is pumped through the pool's existing filtration system.
  2. The pumped water moves through a solar collector, which transfers its heat to the pool's water.
  3. Solar pool heating systems typically are designed to drain back into the pool when the pump is off to provide freeze protection during cooler days.
  4. Solar pool heaters can be installed as stand-alone systems or used in conjunction with traditional electric or gas heating systems.

Getting Started:

APS incentives for solar pool-heating systems can be paid as a Production Based Incentive (PBI) based on the actual production of your system or as an Up-Front Incentive (UFI) based on the estimated kWh savings the system provides.

Your installer can help you through the incentive process but you should familiarize yourself with the equipment qualifications and installation guidance documents for a PBI or UFI.
