Incentives for Wind Energy Wind has been used throughout recorded history to power boats, grind grain, saw lumber and make paper. In agricultural communities across the American West, windmills have long been a part of the landscape, primarily used for pumping water, but the technology has come a long way over the decades. Today, a wind turbine can produce 250 to 300 kilowatts of power or about a ten fold increase in efficiency over earlier technology. And when you combine APS incentives and State and Federal tax credits, wind energy can be an economical solution to help meet your energy needs. Only systems installed within APS territory are eligible for these incentives. Is there wind in Arizona? Will wind work for me? Where can I find out more about wind technologies? Available wind incentives: Incentives for residential customers The renewable incentive program is funded by APS customers and is approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission.
