Bi-directional meters show all reads in a window on the meter’s face. There are eight fields shown on the meter’s display. Each field is shown in the window for a few seconds. Field discriptions are listed below in the order they display. Directions are also available for meters with seven display fields.
Meter reading tips
- To determine your kWh usage, subtract your read from a previous read. Your APS bill displays your most recent and previous readings.
- Standard Rate customers are billed for the total amount of energy that is delivered. The Standard Rate does not include a time-of-use feature.
- On-and off-peak hours will vary based upon the rate you have selected. To get your off-peak kWh usage, subtract your on-peak kWh usage from your total kWh usage.
- You are credited for energy received by APS based on your renewable energy rate selection.
- Our residential Combined Advantage 9 p.m. - 9 a.m. and Combined Advantage 7 p.m. - Noon time-of-use rate plans and our business rates include a demand charge as part of your monthly billing.
- Your kilowatt (kW) read -- also known as a demand read -- is reset each month when your meter is read.
