Meter reading tips

  • To determine your kWh usage, subtract your read from a previous read. Your APS bill displays your most recent and previous readings.
  • Standard Rate customers are billed for the total amount of energy that is delivered. The Standard Rate does not include a time-of-use feature.
  • On-and off-peak hours will vary based upon the rate you have selected. To get your off-peak kWh usage, subtract your on-peak kWh usage from your total kWh usage.
  • You are credited for energy received by APS based on your renewable energy rate selection.
  • Our residential Combined Advantage 9 p.m. - 9 a.m. and Combined Advantage 7 p.m. - Noon time-of-use rate plans and our business rates include a demand charge as part of your monthly billing.
  • Your kilowatt (kW) read -- also known as a demand read -- is reset each month when your meter is read.
