Production Based Incentives - Schools & Government Program

Publicly funded K-12 schools and governmental facilities that are regularly accessed by the general public (e.g. Libraries, City Halls, Admin Buildings, Police, and Fire Stations) are eligible to apply for production based incentives using a special fund under the APS Renewable Energy Incentive Program. Funding is limited to a total of $15 million of lifetime incentive commitments and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis until depleted.

Under this program:

• The per kWh incentive is the maximum allowed incentive as listed under APS' non-residential incentive chart (amounts vary per technology and applicable contract term).
• Any single project is limited in size to 300 kWac or $1.5 million in lifetime incentive payments.
• School districts or municipalities can apply for funding of up to three projects during the calendar year.
• Participants are also required to install kiosks, displays or other appropriate signage for awareness and education purposes.

• Review Non-residential Incentive Timeline (Steps 1 & 2 of this document do not apply to this program) for information on the process flow and corresponding milestones which will help you stay on track to receive your incentive. Additional forms referenced in the timeline are listed below.
  
  
• Review the Equipment Qualification & Installation Guidance document for your particular technology (available for each technology page) for information on technical requirements for your project.
  
  
• Complete a Production Based Incentive Reservation Request for the technology you are installing. Please write "Use Schools/Gov't Program Funds" at the top of your application. On the application, request the maximum $/kWh amount allowed based on the technology and terms for which you are applying.

* Please note, projects that qualify for up-front incentives, or projects larger than the maximum size of 300 kWac per meter or lifetime incentive payments of over $1.5 million per interconnected meter do not qualify for this program. Such projects are eligible to participate in the APS Renewable Energy Incentive Program, under standard program rules and conditions.
