Prescott City to White Spar 69kV Power Line Improvement Project

To help ensure electrical service reliability for our existing and future customers in the Prescott area, APS is planning upgrades and improvements to the 69 kilovolt (kV) electrical system connecting the Prescott City Substation to the White Spar Substation.

The primary electrical source to the White Spar Substation is currently a single 69kV line from the Prescott City Substation. The proposed power line will provide extra capacity and reliability to APS customers. Currently, an outage on the existing power line could result in the loss of power to approximately 2,000 customers in the area.

NEW INFORMATION - APS SELECTS POWER LINE ROUTE

Following a series of public open houses in March 2009, continued input from the Prescott community and internal analysis by APS, a route for the project has been identified and is illustrated in Newsletter #2 available below. Information about the project schedule and next steps are also included in the newsletter. APS is very appreciative of the feedback that has been provided through the line siting process. Your input is an important part of the power line siting process and is an essential part of our ability to deliver reliable electric service to our customers.

Questions about the line siting process and identification of the proposed route can be directed to Greg Bernosky, APS Transmission and Facility Siting Project Manager, at (602) 493-4448 or by email at Gregory.Bernosky@aps.com

Questions regarding the construction of the project, including the specific location of easements and structures, as well as the project construction schedule should be directed to Charles Hayes, APS Overhead Systems Design Project Manager at (602) 328-1114 or by email at Charles.Hayes@aps.com

APS thanks you for your interest and support in this project.
