Transmission and Facility Siting - Completed Projects

TS-8 to San Luis 69kV
Transmission Line Project

APS is planning to construct a new 69kV transmission line and two 69kV substations as part of our commitment to reliably serve the electrical energy needs of customers in the greater Yuma area.  These new facilities would strengthen the reliability of electrical service to customers in Yuma, Somerton, and San Luis.

APS plans include constructing a new 69kV substation (TS-8, now called SW-6) in the area generally south of the Marine Corp. Air Station. The system upgrades will include a 69kV transmission line from this new substation to a new substation (SW-3) near the proposed border crossing east of San Luis. An additional 69kV transmission line will then connect into the existing San Luis Substation.

See the project newsletter below for more information and a map of the proposed power line route.
