Our program is available to home builders that produce 5 or more homes each year.

getting started
It’s easy to build Energy Star homes. Just work with a HERS rater and sign your agreement.
  1. Contact Sandy Lockard at 602-250-3455 or sandy.lockard@aps.com to find out about certification requirements for ENERGY STAR Homes.
  2. Contact a HERS rater/inspector below to determine if your new home construction plans comply with Energy Star standards.
    3. HERS raters will:
    • analyze your plans, help you meet the current Energy Star requirements and determine individual plan scores
    • provide inspection services that follow the EPA’s testing and inspection protocol
    Locate a certified independent HERS rater through the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET).
     
  3. Complete:
    • the EPA Online Partnership Agreement
    • the Agreement Information form
    • the APS Energy Star Homes Participation Agreement
  4. Attend a Success with Energy Star building science workshop
  5. Your HERS rater will verify compliance and you’ll receive an incentive check.
