Protecting your home from wildfire starts with you. Look around your home and evaluate measures you can take to create a defensible space.
Due to the on-going threat of wildfires in our state and the large number of urban interface communities developing across the landscape, APS creates and maintains a defensible space around wooden utility power poles and anchor wires in these areas.
During extreme fire conditions, APS may clear vegetation from around the poles to minimize the wildfire danger and to prevent the loss of power. If we are in your area to remove vegetation, we will leave you a notice of intent to perform the work.
Be firewise by learning about the seven things that you can do to help protect your home from wildfire.
