Clothes Dryer
Be sure the dryer you buy has a moisture sensor control, which will automatically turn the dryer off as soon as the clothes are dry. A moisture sensor typically cuts energy use by about 10-15%.

Another energy saving feature is the cool-down cycle which tumbles clothes in cooler air during the last five or ten minutes of drying. This feature also reduces wrinkling.

Electric dryers add less heat to your laundry room (saving on air conditioning) and are less expensive to purchase than gas dryers. And electric dryers produce no combustion by-products to pollute the air in your home.

Hang clothes outside to dry when you can.

Be sure dryer is vented to the outside to reduce heat and moisture in the home. And clean the lint filter after every dryer load.
