Energy Watch

Current Level - YELLOW

Use our Energy Watch for updates on recommended electric use and check our daily updates for more information. There are three levels which will be updated throughout the day as the condition of the electric system changes in the Phoenix metro area. Please check back often for updates.

Green - Normal energy use until 3 p.m.
Yellow - Reduce energy use from 3 to 6 p.m.
Red - Immediately reduce energy use

We continue to monitor conditions that affect our Valley’s electric transmission system. Based on current load, we are cautiously watching the situation and ask for you to help to reduce your energy use between the peak hours of 3-6 p.m.

By taking the following actions, you can help us continue to provide reliable electric service to the Valley:

Plan your use of major appliances (pool pump, clothes dryer, washer and dishwasher) to avoid running them during the peak hours of 3 and 6 p.m.
Consider doing errands or other out-of-the-house activities during 3 and 6 p.m.
Make plans for a “stove-free” meal. Consider a BBQ, a meal out, or a cold or room-temperature evening dish such as a salad, sandwiches or a deli tray.
