Electric rates are higher in summer
Electric rates go up on May 1st every year. The high demand for electricity in summer requires that generation plants with higher operating costs be turned on and power to be purchased on the open market to meet the demand. This increases costs.
You may want to review electric rates available to you. If you are a registered aps.com user, you can even do a rate compare analysis to determine whether you are on the best plan for your needs.
