 Arizona homes use more energy in summer
The hot Arizona climate significantly impacts the amount of energy used. A typical home in the Phoenix and low desert areas will experience the following increases:

up to 65% from April to May

up to 50% from May to June

up to 10% from June to July
-
up to 8% to 10% in August.
Homes with gas appliances will experience about the same dollar increases, but because the April bills are typically lower, the percent increase will be higher.
