System Sizing and Installation

An APS Qualified Contractor will help you through the process of installing a new energy-efficient air conditioning system or upgrading your existing system. The two primary considerations are:

  • Quality installation   -- Your new unit should be installed by an APS Qualified Contractor who meets stringent installation and maintenance requirements and is a member of the Arizona Heat Pump Council.
  • Proper equipment -- A Heating and Cooling Load analysis will determine the proper size unit (in tons) for your home. Bigger isn’t necessarily better.

The components of a quality system involve:

  • A properly sized and installed high efficiency heat pump or air conditioner
  • Properly sealed and insulated duct work
  • A programmable thermostat, which provides greater control over home comfort and energy use.
