Standard Rate Plan

If you would rather not let the clock dictate when you use electricity, or if you prefer not to worry about on-peak  and off-peak hours, the Standard Plan may be best for you.

Here's a quick comparison of our Rate Plans.

The Standard Plan may be best for you when:

  • Your meter cannot be physically touched by the APS meter reader every month. This is the only rate that does not require the meter reader to physically touch your meter. However, the meter must still be visible so the monthly read can be taken.
  • You live in a small (1,100 square feet or less) home, condominium or apartment.
  • Or, you generally use 1,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) or less each month.
  • You do not have a swimming pool or electrically heated spa.
  • You do not have electric heat.

The Standard Plan provides an incentive to customers to conserve energy. The less you use, the lower your bill.

View the Standard Rate Plan sample calculations for the summer and winter months.

Here's how it works:

You're billed the lowest kWh price for the first 400 kWhs you use per month. The next 400 kWhs are billed at a higher price, and all additional kWhs after that at still a higher price.

As with all of our residential rate plans, you should remain on this plan for one year.
