The acceptable forms of security deposit are listed below. Non-monetary options require special documents and preparation time. If you are unable to apply for service far enough in advance to complete these documents, you may place a cash deposit and it will be refunded when the non-monetary document is received.
Surety Bond
Surety Bonds must be written on an APS Bond form. Please contact the APS Business Customer Care Center at (602) 371-6767 to have the form prepared and faxed or e-mailed to you. Submit the form to your insurance agent along with financial information. Completed bond will have a power of attorney attached and must be signed by officer/owner/general partner/manager of the entity applying for service.
APS must receive the original bond form prior to connecting service.
Irrevocable Letter of Credit
Irrevocable Letters of Credit must be written on a local bank that is FDIC insured. Your bank should have own form but if any questions regarding verbiage your banker may contact the APS Business Customer Care Center at (602) 371-6767 for clarification.
The original letter must be received by APS prior to connection of service.
Assignment of Monies
Funds must be held in a local bank that is FDIC insured and assets must be liquid, such as savings account or CD. Please contact the Business Customer Care Center at (602) 371-6847 for form preparation. You will be asked to provide the name of you bank and the account holders name. This form will then be signed by an APS representative and mailed to you. The account holder must sign the form and the a your bank must complete. If you wish to expedite this process you may visit an APS office for form preparation.
The original form must be received by APS prior to connection of service.
Cash
Upon completion of your application for service the APS Business Customer Care Center representative will assign a deposit account number. If application is made online, your deposit account number will be provided in your confirmation e-mail. You may pay the deposit by check or credit card over the phone by calling (602) 371-6767 and selecting option #2. Payment can also be made at www.aps.com or by visiting your nearest APS office. Deposit must be paid prior to connection of service.
