General Dusk to Dawn Lighting is a leased lighting program through APS for private property such as Gated Communities, parking lots, alleys, etc. APS will own and maintain the equipment. Customer owned Dusk to Dawn lights are also available where the customer owns the equipment. APS will maintain lamps only if APS standard equipment is installed. All customer owned Dusk to Dawn lights are subject to the code requirements of the governing municipality.
If lighting is part of a construction project, please contact the APS Project Leader for your area. If your project is for Dusk to Dawn lighting only, please contact Outdoor Lighting.
Installation Most of the installation costs are covered in the E-47 rate. This is a non-metered rate based on lumen type, pole type and various other charges. The customer is responsible for all trench, conduit and j-box installation, subject to an inspection from APS. Contact your APS Project Leader for a pre-construction meeting.
Term of Contract A Dusk to Dawn contract is for a minimum of 3 years. Prior to any lighting installation, it is the responsibility of the customer to contact all area residents who may be affected.
Signatures A Dusk to Dawn contract must be signed prior to installation of lights. Authorized signatures include the property owner, the lessee (If they have proof that the lease term exceeds the contract term), or a person with proof of financial responsibility for a Homeowners Association.
Balance of Contract or Up and Down Charges Should the Dusk to Dawn Contract be broken prior to the expiration date, the customer is responsible for the Balance of Contract or the Up and Down charges, whichever is less. Up and Down charges recover the installation and removal of said facilities. However, an assignment is an agreement signed by a new customer accepting responsibility for the balance of a Dusk to Dawn contract, which releases the original customer of further liability.
Outages/Maintenance APS will use diligence in maintaining service; however, monthly bills will not be reduced due to lamp outages. The customer is responsible to report outages with address, business name and pole number(s) that require maintenance. You may also report the outage by calling (602)371-7171. Please allow up to 10 working days for normal repairs, and up to 20 working days for underground repairs.
