Sun Valley to Morgan (TS-5 TO TS-9) 500kV/230kV Transmission Line Project
ACC APPROVES CERTIFICATE OF ENVIRONMENTAL COMPATIBILITY

On March 4, 2009 the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) voted four to one to approve the Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) as recommended by the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee. The CEC was issued on March 17, 2009. The Commission made only one minor change in the CEC regarding the route crossing at SR-74 and 163rd Ave.
On April 11, 2011 the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) launched an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). In addition to processing a Right of Way on federal lands in the area of SR-74 this will involve the development of a Land Use Plan Amendment (LUPA). This process is expected to take approximately two years and the public will have several opportunities to be involved.
Visit the BLM website for additional information concerning the status of the EIS.
A copy of the final executed CEC from the Arizona Corporation Commission is provided under the latest information below.
