TS-9 (Morgan) to Pinnacle Peak 500kV / 230kV Transmission Line Project
APS’ TS-9 (Morgan) to Pinnacle Peak 500-kV / 230-kV project will provide the electrical infrastructure that is necessary to support growth in the northern portions of the metropolitan area, bring additional power to the entire metro area and, improve the reliability of the existing transmission system. Project construction began in 2009 and was completed in 2010.
The Arizona Corporation Commission granted APS a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) for this project on February 13, 2007. The CEC allowed APS to begin the right-of-way acquisition and permitting process for the new power line and substations. A copy of the approved Commission Order and the corridor map are available below.
